Situated back-to-back with each other, Hay pool and Barley pool both are canal-type lakes about three-quarters of an acre in size and hold 20 pegs each. Fishing on both lakes is from only one side of each to prevent anglers ‘sword fencing’ with each other!
Hay and Barley are about 20 metres wide which makes them ideal for fishing the pole and both hold carp from 8oz to 4lbs with some going to 20lbs, plus some tench, skimmer bream, perch and roach.

Both Hay & Barley pools are designated match waters only.

Many matches are won with weights over 150lbs and it’s not unusual to see individual anglers weighing in between 80lbs and 100lbs.
